Agreed, the embers seem very divorced from the dragon in comparison to the aura.

(However, I'm already preemptively sad that the auras will get at max one recolor and probably not even that. At least the light and fire ones, so far, could support many.)

i wish the blaze branches were on the hands rather than feet, they're really underwhelming/hiding on most poses and the concept is so cool that it feels like it could have been more interesting. the aura+fam are very cute, though

mte. thought it was for the hands from the thumbnail, super disappointed it ended up being for the feet instead.

The slinks themselves are adorable, but given the inclusion of the accessories thus far, I'd already put all the money on the Ice one having the daggum 'thematic' shackles that FR lore says everything Ice-related has got to have, rather than being a more generic snowy/icy ferret.

Personally I would love it if the Ice ferret had little snowy bushes on its back like the ones in the Snowsquall Tundra, but yeah it's probably just going to be Oops! All Shackles again.

As an Icicle, I'm so sick of the shackles. Yeah we've got a prison, but that's not all the entire flight revolves around ffs

Considering all the drama the bull obelisk skin has caused... I don't want to whine where the drama about it is fresh, so here I am.

I just want to say it looks bizarre with an extra set of eyes if you try it on a real dragon. I thought it was at least interesting, until I tested it. The execution makes it a "meh".

Agreed, I just think it looks kind of stupid and was surprised it won because of that alone. I'm not entirely sure how "Paint a not-dragon over your dragon while still superimposing the eyes randomly onto the image." really fits the spirit of the whole festival in general, but IDK how superimposing a decal of a peacock does that either. There are some serious duds this fest IMO. Not opposed to skins like that for UMAs but it doesn't feel like its trying to honor or celebrate anything about the event or element and looks tacky for an official site skin.

Uh... Pretty sure that's a phoenix on the veil skin, not a peacock, with the name from the ashes. That's pretty thematic for fire.

But the bull is just an oddly flawed choice.

Yeah its intended to be a phoenix but it executes the theme about as well as "Iron robot bull painted over dragon with flames coming out." The fire themes are loose in both and they both are "Draw over" style accents. There were better, more fire-themed entries IMO

I find it so weird they would lump in the phoenix skin when it's not controversial at all, just... hard for them to figure out? Did the patterning after a peacock really throw them off so much that it merits being tossed in with the ancient torture device skin?

lolwut. I never said anything about the controversy IDGAF about that I was just mentioning I didn't like either of them for similar reasons. I didn't struggle to figure it out I just don't think they fit the theme or look good. You can disagree but not sure where this reach came from???

The discussion wasn't really on the controversy though, and I'd prefer to not see that shit storm of bullshit. Just the awful execution of the skin. Preview it on a dragon with a bright eye color.

I don't agree that the phoenix is poorly executed or against theme, but hey, it's opinion.

I think I went harder on fest currency than I've ever done for a holiday before. Final tally is 110 Fire Auras (plus a couple of the other things and a handful of auras I've already slapped on dragons). Whew!

Dang, I went for like 15 of the Blaze Branches and 20 of the auras, and thought I went hard! That's impressive.

I definitely got a lot fewer branches, and they're the more expensive thing, so that still sounds like a strong haul!
