This is how I feel about it =\ Accent color feels totally out of place and ruins any fun scries I was playing with.
Good niche gene, but I'll be sticking with stained for 99% of scries that need this kind of tert.

Yeah, I have one dragon it looks good on, my progen, but he is XYX. It makes him look like a shiny ornament.
All others I can't really see the shiny or it has a strange color added that makes it looks ugly.
Like Rose. I have a purple/blackish range dragon with a rose tert. It adds an ugly greenish hue to the dragon *whines*

Tbh. As an SMR regular who had to figure out how to use dreamwidth. I’m kinda curious when the livejournal era ended because I also grew up on the beginnings of the internet. The golden age of neopets and club penguin, when there was still kid specific social spaces and everything wasn’t sanitized to just make everything count as kid friendly (despite the fact that kids under 13 probably shouldn’t be online unsupervised anyway. And in most cases arent even allowed to have accounts on these samitized social media).
But also, i never freaking did social stuff. So idk if it’s a case of I’m too young to have seen that or a case of i dont even use real social media or forums. The 4chan comparisons are really best left to the older comms though. Even then they’re probably a bit extreme because 4chan can be pretty bad.

There’s a difference between fights to the death and a friendly competition. Last years champion wasnt killed during the festival. They died because they were an idiot and tried to solo an emperor. In fact if I remember the lore brochure properly there’s not really supposed to be death during the festival.
No, but seriously. Is there a guide, a guild, a specific group of people I can @ tag who have already agreed to it? Which forum should I post it in?
regarding g1 prices, id refer to the current AH postings for the color and their color pattern (eg xxy, xyx, etc). some colors are more popular and sell for more, and the AH can be a good judge for popularity+price. also search through forum sales and auction posts for similar (sold) colors/patterns. matching eyes and matchy colors can increase the price somewhat, although this depends on the popularity of the colors. for example, an undesirable xyy avocado/strawberry could probably net you ~400g at most, but an xxy obsidian/x could start at 30kG.
there are some g1 pinglists like g1 hoarders v3(?). im not active in them but im sure there are g1 discords that you could ask for a price check in.
all that being said, if this is an xyz with non-matchy colors that needs some serious scrying work to look decent, its probably just fodder price. eye type and "rarity" of the colors wont really impact the price if its uggo.

I tried it on a double white with rose. Yellow is not a good color with pink.(the greenish tone yours had is actually a wierd yellow highlight)
Soap feels like a 300g discount Iridescent, as basic+Soap looks very much like Iridescent
Saw one anon’s theory on smr that the iridescent fix was coming so that’s why soap looks exactly like it currently and tbh I can’t disagree.
Do you mean removing the cock fighting reference? Because uh. Even if cultures still practice it that doesn’t make it not animal abuse. There’s a reason alternatives to bull fighting happened, to preserve the harmless (well, mostly. Still really dangerous for the person) part of the practice without it still being cruel. Bloodless bull fighting is basically all the showing off without any of the horrible prolonged death (or any death. Which means bulls can actually be used more than once)

Thanks. I was actually a bit worried that it would be rude to ping them, or join the discord, as I already have a potential buyer? I'm just trying to make sure that I'm pricing the G1 fairly for both of us. ^^;
Thanks. It's nothing fancy, not like an XXX or XXY or anything, but it is a white-range/black-range/orange-range w/ matching eyes. Someone has already shown some interest, I'm just trying to get a ballpark for what a fair price would be lol.
No, it's definitely a green. (Which looks worse with the pink than yellow would, but I guess the rationale is roses have green leaves.)

I tried it on my Shadow/Violet Spiral and I can definitely see it as yellowish-green, not too flattering I'll agree
Imo it's a fairly niche tert but I do like Soap. It gives excellent polished rock vibes with Boulder/Myrid and some of the ultra glossy effects on Wasp and Metallic/Alloy are fun.
i personally stopped using livejournal and started using tumblr full time for fandom stuff in 2011. i had noticed more and more people navigating over there so i followed along. i also started using twitter in that same time period.

I basically just started with Tumblr and stuck to it (other than discord). Guess I’m one of the people who’s too young instead of just someone who didn’t notice.
Still don’t really socialize on forums. Only started actually saying anything here recently too (i have however been reading the older comms, even if they can be painful to get through at times. A lot of the tumblr links are dead. Links to places like tinypic. Empty imgur links. And ofc the general vibes of the older comms are, ugh.)

Ah, thanks, Mine has a purple/darkish prim/tert so that probably made it look greenish to me (plus, I noped out quickly of that image :P)

This is one reason I would love the gene variants to become a thing. There are a lot of good gene ideas out there, but, especially lately it seems, Staff seems to love pairing odd colors with the main color, which can ruin the entire look.
Like the rose with yellow highlights? Pink with yellow? Sure, some people might like it, but I would prefer a deeper red, or even a purple or blue. I tend to prefer colors that are more mono-chromatic, such as blues with purples or greens, and not necessarily deep blue with a neon green.
As it is, when I saw how my progen looked, I was excited, it looked like glass (my progen is blue/storm/blue with freckle/iri, for anyone who wants to see it). I loved it. Then I tried it on a few other dragons, and as said, either they had those weird highlight colors which completely ruined the gene because it never matched the rest of the colors (I rarely have doubles or triples outside of fodder breeders, so a lot of my dragons have vastly different colors), or I just couldn't see it (tried a triple white iri/shim and a double white with ice tert, and couldn't really see a difference on them).
So it was a disappointing blow to me. I might try my other dragons, and I am pretty sure I will get it for my progen (and may see if different genes make a huge difference in the impression it gives me), but ultimately? I feel this is going to be another gene that I go 'nice concept, but I wish the execution had been different'.

I think I went harder on fest currency than I've ever done for a holiday before. Final tally is 110 Fire Auras (plus a couple of the other things and a handful of auras I've already slapped on dragons). Whew!
