Re: Skin makers go on strike

I also was reading the archived version of the first page, and was thinking 'why did you choose THESE skins?'

The first one, yeah, I know they are meant to be shorts ,but still look more like underwear to me, and the Title of it? Sounds like a porn site...

Second one? I mean, I personally wouldn't really want people making 'icon skins' either, but that is one of the best examples I saw in the thread.

Third one, the two passed ones, the first one you barely see that the sticks are sticking out of the mouth, and are lit, the second one looks more like grass than anything else. But the rejected one definitely looks more like Cigars than either of the other two

The one with the sakura branches and arrows? I mean come on, we have been hearing about 'blood and suffering get rejected' for how long? why are people STILL putting arrows sticking from dragons? If it has the slightest bit of looking like blood might be coming from it, you know it will get rejected.

The one with the moon and face? Yeah, massive blood and gore is over kill, but why would you put a wound on the dragon. It has a wolf head and clouds and moon. What does the wound have to do with it (I know, but again, with all the issues about blood and suffering, again, why add it in?)

The next one (with the slices of flesh)? Yeah, it is slices of flesh that look like they come from the dragon. I don't care what the color is. And having others that have gotten through doesnt mean that those weren't a mistake, and that allowing further ones is the 'correct thing to do'

The next two, yeah, those are a bit of a stretch, but reiterating that people have known these things will happen when you do stuff like that. So, why are they still pushing it and then getting upset about it getting denied when they know it will get denied?

Basically, I agree that it would be immensely helpful to have as clear cut rules as possible for the skins and accents.

But, at this point, I don't think even if the staff create a 200 page booklet of every single example of going too far with explicit examples, and images and every thing some of these people ask for, some of these people would be happy.

They would still create these skins that are explicitly against the rules then get upset when they get denied and point out all the other skins that look somewhat like theirs that have gotten through.

I also don't think it is possible for staff to give a much firmer guideline, without boxing themselves in too much or having to go the 200 page booklet route, to make sure they cover every single example of what is allowed and what isn't. Or there will still be the same issues people have now 'this skin was denied, but tHAT skin was allowed! why was mine denied!!!??? It is sooo arbitrary!'

(also, I know this isn't all the skin/accent makers, but the very vocal minority. I just feel that it would have been much better if the examples used were better ones, since I can easily see why most of those skins WERE denied, just from the rules and guidelines we have gotten from the staff already)
