also, to come to terms with reality tbh - we aren't playing neopets in the early 2000s anymore where they ran a plot over the course of months involving a heavy-for-kid-browsergame story with multiple phases including battledome and random on-site tasks. people nowadays don't invest so much time to petsites anymore and as much as I would like those times back, it really makes no sense with current online climates and demographics anymore.
this is definitely a nice way for them to test out the waters anyway.
