-the game itself growing older but the coliseum/dominance/meta aspect of it not really being updated to keep it fresh for the players so that means that it's pretty much up to the players to offer incentive and organize the dom battles/games and people burn out, it's a lot of work and it's always the same and no one gets paid
-open registration (cough easy multiple accounts cough) opening up a never-ending flood of fodder, made it easier for people to exalt for profit
-the "true value" of dragon levels for dominance being more or less figured out by the lightning/light science alliance so people realized lower levels were more efficient for winning dom (people no longer leveled so many dragons to level 25, which also tanked the price for them)
-the coliseum enemies being tweaked to add more and more neutral enemies in every venue, and the new venues that appeared, both made it so that people no longer flocked to the arena venue in every festival to grind for currency, which made the eliminate battle stone rarer and more expensive, which made people more careful about which dragons they leveled up as their permanent coliseum dragons, which was one more point that made adult dragons cheaper since you might as well sell or exalt the extras?
-the mire flyer coliseum build taking off in popularity when i think kiena and then culex recommended it?, followed by the ghostlight ruins trainer appearing when that venue opened, which allowed people to train lots of dragons to low levels en masse
but i think light vs plague made people realize that they could make bank whenever there was a battle going on, light and plague were both shoving massive amount of treasure into the raffles and public buys at the end of the week
