Upon reflection, I don't know that I wouldn't stick with a Wind+Nature combo anyway. Disorient is my favorite elemental attack, and if the bosses are berserk and doing 1-damage scratches half the time, Nature's weakness to Fire doesn't hurt as much (plus your mage can take advantage of the extended boss battle to throw a heal on them); meanwhile they're actively resistant to four of the non-boss mages and weak to only one.
Alatreon's guide uses the same STR/INT/QCK that my current pair have for both venues, while Maki favors more QCK and less STR/INT - would have to try the latter out to see which I'd favor.
