I definitely agree they look equine in the back legs. Not sure what the original OP is talking about there in the slightest OMG.

Anyway, I left a comment telling them to look at Monster Hunter's Kirin for inspiration, because I think that's the closest you're gonna get to a well-researched and well-animated cirrus-like animal. (Along with looking at actual real world ungulates, of course.)
