I don't have an opinion on this one way or another but I'd just like to point out that the initial issue that started this whole conversation is people doing it/bringing it up in the wrong channel(s) specifically, which you and another anon (?) seem to have neglected.
For something that the OP themselves say is petty and that they just wanted to get it off their chest, it seems to have really struck a nerve here...
