I wish I had thought to archive the thread when I replied to it. Damn it! Now it's gone forever. I'll try to recap what it was, though.
So a user named GhostCollective posted a thread to FRD titled "mildly anarchist shenanigans" that started with a BIG disclaimer about how capitalism is evil and how anyone who disagrees with them is a centrist. Very passive aggressive. The disclaimer included something like "staff if you're going to ban me for this, give me a 5 day warning I have people's dragons in my nest." Then the rest of the post is a big long rant about how expensive Sandsurges are, about how it's terrible that the people with the money get the dragons first and set high prices for the hatchlings. I didn't read all of it because it was whiney and unpleasant. In the replies, GhostCollective told someone something along the lines of "it's not my fault if people start arguing about politics here."
Half of the replies were debating the Sansurge market, which were very long and very uninteresting to me, and the other half were "what did I just walk into" or "I thought this said arcanist, what the heck."
Just a few days earlier, I had a pleasant interaction with GhostCollective in DMs where they asked if they could add me as a friend. (This is definitely de-anoning me, but I'll bite the bullet for the sake of sharing this story.) I said sure, and we added each other. So, when I saw that this timebomb of a thread was posted by my new friend, I felt somewhat disgusted! So, I posted a reply, and it went something like this:
"ghostcollective I don't want to be friends with someone who brings politics to FRD right out of the gate. You're smart enough to know this is a bad idea. I daresay that you included that disclaimer at the beginning of your post and later said "it's not my fault if people fight about politics" with the intent to start a fight."
Then I blocked them. This is the part where I wished I had archived it, because that's the last time I saw the thread!
