It was a childhood staple for McCaffrey's world building for me, but I was frankly too young and ignorant to realize how problematic it was. (Honestly truth, until I read her books and Mercedes Lackey, I didn't know homosexuality existed, so... Yea. Raised in an extremely conservative area.)

I still look at them fondly and pull them out once in a while from my collection but I understand why others view them poorly. And now, I see the issues.
