Re: Dakkokki vs TheSaltyObelisk

I feel the same as the two anons above me.

Venting is fine, as long as it is 'private' or can't be traced back to a specific person if it is public. (note, by venting, I am talking about where the other user hasn't done anything wrong, just something the venting user didn't like)

I am pretty sure that most people did understand it was venting, I know I did. But, it was still over the top, and in a place where random people could see it. Even if the rule is that it is adults only, unless you knew everyone personally, you couldn't be guaranteed that it was adults only, and honestly, many adults can be worse than minors with things like dogpiling someone.

That is why I said what you were saying should have been in a private channel, or only to people you knew would be okay with that type of venting. Because, apparently someone in the server *wasn't* okay with that type of venting.

As for the auction mechanic, I always felt like that, that it would be a huge nightmare to try to implement because the 'rules' for auctions can be dependant on a variety of things, and not all auctions are for pure currency.

But, like the other anon, you talking about 'backing' out was what made me change my mind, especially since it was over a price you had set. I don't know FR's stance on auctions, so I don't know if that would have been an actionable offense or not (another site I play, I believe it would have been. I *think* they have a rule where if you set up an auction, you are supposed to go through with it, and aren't allowed to cancel, once it is set up, but not sure. It could just be that once the auction is finished, you are meant to 'keep your promise' by honoring the auction)

(I know what you mean about not knowing how to use the site, I can barely navigate as well, as I am not a regular user here)
