Not mad, just confused nonny here. I wonder why the font mimics Chinese characters at all? The way they wrote the letters are clearly supposed to mimic real Chinese characters (like 田 长 and 开). But the rest of their theming is about cats and mice? The year of the mouse/rat was last year, right now it’s the year of the ox.
The closest theme connection I can think of is the spring lantern festival (yuan xiao jie) which happened a few days ago. But that festival is more associated with lanterns and fireworks. (If you haven’t heard of it before, my parents described the festival as a way for the community to celebrate New Years together after you’ve celebrated it with your family. People go out into the streets at night to visit markets, light fireworks, and watch performances. Lantern and light displays are everywhere and shops will decorate with lanterns to try and entice people to come visit.)
My last guess would be a reference to a folk/fairy tale?
