It's not only that it's offputting in its interaction style - fast, and competing message threads, demanding immediate appropriate responses rather than after some thought - but it's actively exclusionary per location even when you have those abilities. You have to be online when people are doing things and making decisions, and that is very much not possible for a lot of people.
